The long wait for the launch of Renault Kwid 1.0 seems to get over soon as several Renault dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for Kwid 1.0. Reports suggest that the French carmaker is all set to launch Kwid 1.0l in India on 23rd August 2016 and it can be booked via Paytm while deliveries to commence from 1st week of September. With the launch of bigger and better Kwid, the auto giant is expecting to repeat the same phenomenal performance of standard model.
Renault showcased the model at 2016 Auto expo with AMT gearbox but reportedly only manual gearbox model will be launched now while the AMT Kwid 1.0 has been planned for later stage. The new model will develop around 67bhp and paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as of now. The 800cc version has already received more 1.25 lakh bookings since its launch and has been ticking around 9000 units a month since last few months.
The 0.8L Kwid delivers segment best mileage of 25.17 Kmpl and 1.0l with the light kerb weight is expected to deliver impressive fuel efficiency around 24 Kmpl. The price range will kick start from Rs.3.10 lakh and will go up to Rs. 3.82 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will take on Hyundai Eon 1.0, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Tata Tiago 1.2 petrol.
Renault will offer top spec variant with new features such as rear power windows, standard dual front airbags, new 14 inch alloy wheels and optional ABS. We also expect Renault to improve NVH levels and quality of the cabin. The car is already loaded with features like 7 inch NAV touchscreen system with navigation bluetooth, Aux-in, digital speedometer and air conditioning.
