The French carmaker Renault has received 25,000 confirmed bookings for its entry level hatchback Kwid in India since its launch. Kwid was launched on 24th September 2015 and in the span of less than two weeks it managed to deliver such magical numbers for the carmaker. It is for the first time since their advent in India that Renault has tasted such a huge success.

Renault Kwid was launched in price range of Rs. 2.57 lakh for the entry level base variant which goes up to 3.53 lakh for the fully loaded top variant. Offered in six trims, the hatchback comes with ample cabin space, more safety features and comfort equipments as compared to Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon.

The Renault Kwid sports plethora of segment first features like 7 inch touchscreen MediaNAV infotainment system, digital driver instrument cluster and it also offers class leading 2422mm of longest wheelbase and 180mm of ground clearance. The car maker also claims that the maintenance cost of Kwid is approx 19% affordable than its rivals.

The 98 percent localization levels not only help Renault to price it aggressively but also made sure that the spare parts and accessories are affordable than its rival. It is powered by a 3-cylinder 799cc petrol engine that delivers 53bhp of max power@5678rpm and 72 Nm of torque@4386rpm. Kwid is also the country’s most fuel efficient petrol car as it manages to deliver 25.17 Kmpl of ARAI certified mileage.

Renault Kwid is available with 50,000 km/2 years maintenance as standard that can be further extended to 80,000 km/4 years.

Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said “The Renault KWID has created a huge excitement since its launch and we are thrilled with the response it has received just at the on-set of the festive season.
