Expanding its current line-up of Macan in India and to negate with the ban imposed by Supreme Court in Delhi-NCR region over the new registrations of diesel vehicles over 2000cc, Porsche has launched a new base Petrol variant of Macan crossover in India. Priced at Rs. 76.16 lakh, the model is up for pre-order for a booking amount of Rs. 10 lakh while deliveries will commence from October or November 2016.

Porsche Macan doesn’t have direct competitors considering the Petrol powertrain however it will face competition from BMW X5, Land Rover Discovery sport and Mercedes-Benz GLE. All these SUVs come with diesel engine under the hood and are comparatively more affordable than Porsche Macan.

The Crossover packs a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that belts out 252bhp of power between 5000-6800rpm and 370Nm of torque kicks between 1600-4500rpm. The power is sent to all wheels via seven speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual clutch automatic transmission. The new powertrain help Macan to attain 100km mark from languish in just 6.7 seconds by clocking the top speed of 229km/hr.

The Five seater premium crossover measures 4697mm in length, 1923mm in width, 1623mm in height and sits on the wheelbase of 2807mm. The Crossover will be brought to the country via CBU (Completely built unit) route and comes with long list of standard features like Porsche traction management PTM all wheel drive system, lane departure warning, three zone climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, eight way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 19 inch alloy wheels, automated rear boot open-close function, Alcantara leather seats, twin exhausts etc.

The users can also opt for optional equipments such as Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche dynamic lights or LED headlamps with Porsche dynamic light system plus, heating function for front seats, six disc CD/DV changer, Porsche communication system with navigation module, Apple car play, Google earth and Google street view, real time traffic information and W-Fi internet access.
