Nissan Terrano AMT launch planned for this festive season

Growing demand for AMT gearbox has been on cloud 9 and encouraging various carmakers to launch these cars for the Indian market. The Japanese carmaker, Nissan is now planning to launch Terrano AMT in India during the upcoming festive season. The SUV will get the same 6-speed Easy R AMT gearbox the same unit which also powers Renault Duster AMT, it is also expected to get new CM10 engine and upgraded architecture for enhanced safety.

Current range of engines include, 1.6l petrol engine that produces 103bhp@5850rpm power and 145Nm of torque@3750rpm. The 1.5l diesel engine is available in two versions 85PS and 110PS developing 200Nm and 248Nm respectively. Both the engines are linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox as of now. Like Duster AMT, the carmaker will be linking AMT with the most powerful version of 1.5l diesel engine i.e. 110PS variant.

The Terrano AMT is not likely to bear any fresh design upgrades save for the R-AMT badge at rear. However, cabin is expected to get minor cosmetic changes such as revamped upholstery along with feature add-ons like automatic climate control, new touchscreen infotainment system with GPS guided navigation etc. Features like 8 way adjustable front seats, rear AC vents, multi function steering wheel, bluetooth enabled audio system will continue to embellish the cabin of Terrano AMT.

At present to boost the sales, company is offering benefits worth Rs. 80,000 with an interest rate of 7.99 percent. To be launched sometime during festive season, price of AMT Terrano is expected to evolve around Rs. 50,000-70,000 over the standard variant. Nissan Terrano is currently available between Rs. 9.99 lakh to 13.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
