The South Korean car maker, Hyundai has launched the refreshed version of executive sedan Elantra in India at the introductory price of Rs. 14.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Elantra was first introduced in 2004 and received major update in 2013. Current Gen Hyundai Elantra is known for its executive and long list of features and new Elantra also gets some new sophisticated features. The 2015 variant is just an upgraded variant while new GEN Elantra is expected to arrive in 2016.
Price:
The base petrol variant of 2015 Elantra cost Rs. 14.13 Lakh while the top variant comes at Rs. 16.49 lakh. The base diesel S variant is priced at Rs. 14.57 lakh while the SX-AT top variant cost Rs. 17.94 lakh. All the prices are of ex-showroom Delhi.
Engine details:
New Elantra uses the same engines of current model that means it is powered by 1.8L dual VTVT petrol engine that makes 147.5bhp of power@6500rpm and 178Nm torque@4700rpm while the diesel variants are powered 1.6L VGT CRDi capable of producing 126bhp power@4000rpm and 260Nm of peak torque@1900-2750rpm. Both the power trains are matched to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Space and Dimensions:
New Hyundai Elantra comforts seating capacity for 5 persons with the dimensions of 4550mm length, 1775mm wide, 1470mm height and wheelbase of 2700mm.
Exterior and Interior:
New Elantra now offers modern windcraft design and the most prominent, noticeable changes on new Elantra are the cosmetic ones both inside and outside. New Elantra now flaunts stylish redesigned hexagonal front bumper with chrome inserts, projector headlights now gets LED guide with blackened effect, new L shaped boomerang shaped fog lamps which looks elegant.
The side profile of new Elantra is moreover same except the new 16 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels, new adjustable ORVMs while you get same chrome finish door handles and chrome molding on belt line. Now moving to rear side, new tone bumper, chrome tipped exhaust and LED effect rear combo tail lamps make the rear end of new Elantra sporty.
As for the interiors the dual tone dashboard has been replaced by new sporty black interiors with silver detailing, it also gets black leather seats with ventilation system which keeps you cool. The infotainment system is also the new one 4.3 TFT LCD display with rear view camera display, 2DIN audio system with USB, Aux-in, radio, CD and MP3 connectivity, the little tiny A/C vents are now replaced with the larger ones.
Elantra is equipped with other luxurious features such as multi function steering wheel, cruise control, engine start/stop button, aluminum pedals, scuff plates, 10 way power seats with lumbar support for driver’s seat, power outlet for rear passenger, ORVMs with heated function, Cooled gloved box, rear AC vents and dual zone fully automatic air control. The interiors of new Elantra now look up market and luxurious with many new gen features.
Colors:
New Elantra is available in six colors which are Polar white, Sleek Silver, Midas Gold, Phantom black, Red passion and Mystic Blue.
Safety:
Hyundai never comprises on safety aspect in their cars and Elantra also loaded with safety features such as six airbags including dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic stability control), clutch lock, hill assist control, rear view camera, front and rear disc brake, rear parking sensors.
The D-segment sedan also gets impact and speed sensing auto door lock-unlock, VSM (vehicle stability management), rear defogger with timer, electric chromic mirror, seatbelt pretensioners, automatic headlight control etc.
