Maruti has finally revealed its long awaited Sedan Ciaz on 6th October 2014; almost all the details were already available on Maruti’s official site. Maruti Ciaz will replace SX4 and compete against Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Nissan Sunny and Volkswagen Vento. Maruti has not been so successful in C+ segment with SX4 but with new design and carrying bunch of features Can Ciaz Uplift Maruti’s hope in C+ Segment. Price:
Price of Ciaz Petrol trim is available in the price bracket of 6.99 -8.59 for manual transmission car and automatic version is available for 8.65 and 9.34. Price of Diesel engine is available between 8.04-9.80 lakhs all the prices are Ex-showroom Delhi.
Engine Details:
Maruti Ciaz is available in two engines petrol and Diesel; 1.4L Ertiga based K series petrol engine which is able to deliver 91BHP power and 130m torque which is mated with 5 Speed manual transmission and it will come with 4 Speed automatic gearbox as well. Fuel efficiency of Petrol engine is 20.73 KPL.
Maruti Ciaz is powered by 1.3L DDis diesel engine produces 89BHP power and 200nm torque which is mated to 5 Speed manual transmission and fuel efficiency is 26.21 KPL which is claimed to be India’s best mileage overtaking Honda City’s 26 KPL mileage.
Space & Dimensions:
Maruti Ciaz is replacing SX4 with better measurements of 4490mm length, 1730mm wide and 1485mm height. From length point of view it is just behind Fiat Linea by 90mm but Ciaz is better than City, Verna etc in terms of specifications.
It offers seating capacity for 5 persons and Ciaz has sufficient amount of legroom and headroom space thanks to extended wheelbase of 2650mm which is better than the competitors. It has a boot capacity of 510 liters.
Interiors and Exteriors:
First let’s talk of its interiors Cabin of Ciaz gets black beige two tone color scheme with faux wood insert, dashboard gets Touchscreen infotainment system with multi utility display, Ciaz has automatic climate control, seats are soft with fabric leather upholstery. Ciaz has other interior features like front- rear armrests, rear A/C vents with 12V charging socket, rear sunshade and rear reading lamps, start stop buttons and sleek steering wheel with mounted controls.
On the outside, front side looks aggressive with smoked projector headlamps with turn indicators; circular fog lamps, bonnet gets two thin line designing and chrome plated grille with Maruti’s logo at the center, side gets body colored rear view mirrors with indicators, side of the car is also equipped with multi spoke alloy wheels with 15 and 16 inch options and rear side gets beautiful combination tail lights which gives resemblance of Honda City’s taillights, rear side also gets body painted bumpers with parking camera and wedged shaped boot lid. Overall Ciaz has an appealing Design which will surely attract many.
Colors:
Maruti Ciaz is available in seven colors which are Metallic clear beige, Pearl midnight black, Metallic glistering grey, metallic silky silver, Pearl Sangria Red, Pearl Metallic dignity brown and Pearl Snow White.
Safety:
Maruti Ciaz is built on STECT (Suzuki effective control technology) besides this Ciaz is come loaded with various safety features like Dual air bags for front passengers, seat belt pre tensioners with limit force, ABS with EBD, Smart key system, Rear parking sensors with display assistance anti theft system, engine immobile and fog lamps.

Maruti Ciaz comes with innovative design technology of Maruti and price of Ciaz is very competitive. Fuel efficiency of both the trims act as a major plus point for Ciaz but with so much highly acclaimed car already present in the segment Can Ciaz makes its way into the segment with the bang?
