British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has re-launched the 3.0 l diesel XJ sedan in India which is more affordable than the predecessor. More affordable is because this 3.0 diesel version of XJ will be assembled locally from now onwards at company’s plant in Pune. This local production has made the luxury saloon to manage to have a price tag under 1 crore.
Price:
While previous version had the starting price tag of 1.16 crores, this locally assembled XJ diesel comes with the two variants having price of 93.74 lakhs and 1.45 crores respectively.
Engine details:
This luxury saloon is powered by a 3.0 liter diesel engine having two variants namely Premium Luxury and Portfolio. This diesel engine displaces 2993cc and coupled to 6-cylinder and develops max power and peak torque of 271bhp and 600Nm respectively. The powerful diesel mill is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox which is responsible to transmit power to the rear wheels.
This 3.0 liter diesel is the most powerful engine of this car as for now. However, this XJ is also available with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine but it is not being locally manufactured yet.
Space & Dimension:
No changes have been reported in its dimension till now and it will continue with the length of 5252mm, width of 1899mm and height of 1457mm along with the impressive wheelbase of 3157mm.
Interior & Exterior:
Though, its price has been decreased but features have been increased. The new XJ diesel will now come with modified rear seats having three types of massage functions, electric rear sun blinds, a new business table, LED reading tables and a pair of 10.2 inches rear screens etc. Other than this, it will carry the entire features range of predecessor model. It is being also reported that company has improved the headroom at XJ’s rear seats.

Mercedes-Benz’s S-class, BMW’s 7-series and Audi’s A8 etc.
