BMW India has launched the facelift version of 6 series Gran Coupe in India at an introductory price of Rs. 1.14 crores. BMW launched 6 series Gran Coupe at the seventh edition of India Bridal fashion week (IBFW) as BMW was the main sponsor of the show and the event marked the presence of famous Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. The facelift version gets subtle changes and will be sold via CBU route in India, competes with Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS 250CDI.
BMW 6 series Gran Coupe 6 has been launched in two variants- 640d Eminence comes at a starting price of Rs. 1.14 crore while the top 640d Design pure experience variant is priced at Rs. 1.21 crores. Both the prices are Ex-showroom India.
There is no alteration in this section; the facelift version continues to be powered by same 3.0L, six cylinder diesel engine which is rated to deliver 313bhp power@4400rpm and 630Nm of peak torque between 1500-2500rpm mated to an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The 6 series Gran coupe accelerates 0-100km in just 5.4 seconds with the electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr. The xdrive all wheel drive system comes as a standard feature with the car.
The driver can choose among different driving modes such as ECO, PRO, Comfort, Comfort+ and Sport modes depending upon the driving conditions via driving experience control switch.
Space and Dimensions:
BMW 6 Gran coupe measures 5007mm in length, 2090mm wide, 1392mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2968mm. The four door coupe can easily seat four persons with generous amount of legroom and shoulder space. Ground clearance and boot space of Gran coupe stands at 124mm and 480 liters respectively.
Exterior and Interior:
BMW Gran coupe receives number of exterior changes such as new signature Kidney grille with nine slates, 20 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, LED Headlights with anti-dazzle high beam assist, new LED fog lamps and revised front-rear bumpers. Side profile remain same except the new alloy wheels and ORVMs with turn indicators while the rear profile boasts dark chrome finished radiator grille slats, air let vents the sleek LED tail lamps.
On the inside, the overall layout has been remained same but gets new dual tone upholstery, sporty steering wheel with gear shift paddlers; 10.2 inch color display with 3D maps, ambient light with mood lighting, rear view camera assistance, the central console is now finished in piano black shade around the switches for the climate and audio control system.
BMW Gran coupe with some other tempting features such as BMW idrive with touch controller, a high end surrounds system from Bang and Olufsen, BMW connect drive etc. The Dakota and Nappa upholstery is available in black and white color combos while interior trim is offered in Fine line brown and faux wood trim options. According to BMW interior quality has been improved from the outgoing model.
The BMW Gran Coupe is available in ten color shades including one metallic and nine non metallic paintworks. Alpine white is the non metallic one while Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Glacier Silver, Space Grey, Melbourne Red, Mediterranean blue, Mineral white and Jatoba are the non metallic shades.
BMW Gran coupe is extremely fun to drive car without comprising the safety aspect and Safety comes in the form of intelligent lightweight construction, brake energy regeneration, automatic start/stop function, six airbags including head airbags for front and rear, rear view camera, front and side airbags for front passengers, active protection with attentiveness assistant, ABS (anti- lock braking system) with ABS.
Other features include intelligent maintenance system, front and rear view camera, cornering brake control (CBC), BMW night vision with person recognition, electric parking brake with auto hold function, crash sensor, run flat tyres, side impact protection etc.
