While Mercedes is all set to hit the car market with its royal as well as luxury model Mercedes S-Class on 8th January 2014, its main rival Audi has take the cake away by launching the sportier high-performance model just before two days of Mercedes launch. This new sportback is going to make its debut in Indian car market today i.e. 6th January 2014 and company has named it as ‘RS7’. This sportier car will directly compete with Mercedes E63 AMG and BMW M5 in India.
Price:
It is expected to make its debut with a very competitive price range of 1.3 crore. Though it is a car for those business men n celebrities who love to ride sporty cars, love to race etc, not for common people who want a vehicle for daily use.
Engine & Performance:
It has just one variant but with a very powerful and aggressive engine unit. It is well armed with 4.0 liter TFSI twin-turbocharged V8 engine by churning out the stunning max power and peak torque of 552bhp and 700Nm, respectively. Not only this, the sportback RS7 also has 8-speed, Tiptronic automatic gearbox and a Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Reportedly, while the exact mileage figures are not revealed yet, Audi has claimed that this awesome performer car could touch 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds with the top speed of 250 km/h.
Also, company stated that this most powerful sporty car of Audi has a cylinder deactivation feature which would shut the four cylinders out of eight in that case when they are not required and continue to assist the engine to run with four cylinders. This feature would help this powerful engine to gain better fuel economy.

- City road: 7.29 km/l
- Highway: 13.3 km/l
- Combined: 10.2 km/l
Interior & Exterior:
Being a highline variant of Audi A7, it shares many interior n exterior features of this car but also has received some new too. The sportback has the classy badge of RS7, single toned honeycomb grille, matt-finished door mirrors with a glimpse of aluminum, double tailpipes in oval shape and amazing 20 inches alloy wheels etc.
While in interior, other than the entire features of Audi A7, it also gets Valcona leather seats, flat-bottomed 3-spoke steering wheel and modified shift paddles with aluminum-look etc.
