On this Day the Indian Market witnessed the arrival of its first entry level compact sedan. Audi launched its Auto expo showcased much awaited A3 on 7th August 2014 in Delhi. It is company’s lowest price car till date. Mercedes with A class and BMW’s 1 series are already in the market but these are hatchbacks. This entry level Sedan surely will have an impact on Indian sedan segment.
Price:
Audi A3 is smartly price at with its base variant at 22.95 lakhs up to 28.95 lakhs which is lowest among the sedan segment.
Engine:
The Audi A3 is available in two trims Petrol & Diesel, 1.8TFSI Petrol engine with 177BHP and 250nm of torque and 2.0 TDI Diesel engine with 143BHP, 320nm of torque which is same as BMW 1 series but 35nm more than Mercedes A class. Audi A3 will be available with five variants, one petrol variant and other 4 are diesel. It offers 6 speed S-tronic dual clutch automatic transmission with front wheel drive with anti-theft wheel bolts.
According to company, Diesel engine will have 20.38 KM/L mileage while the petrol one will have 16.60KM/L which is quite good.
Space & Dimensions:
The spacious Audi A3 measures 4456 in length, 1796mm wide and 1416mm in height the length of the car is 245mm less as we compared it with its look alike A4. The wheelbase A3 carrying is 2637mm with the boot capacity of 425 liters which is exceptional. It has seating capacity of 5 persons.
Interior & exterior:
Interiors has been filled up with lots luxurious touch and royal feel, with the features like premium music system 5.8” color display screen, music system with 8 speakers, Different color driver display dashboard, It is equipped with exceptional rear seats A/C vents, aluminum interior finish, Aluminum A/C vents, Dual zone climate control, Sunlight dependent control, four spoke leather trimmed multi function steering wheel. Front leg room and headroom is quite good but at rear seats it’s a bit cramp, right quality of material is being used on seats with 5 different color option availability. Other features like interior lights, loads of storage space and smoothie all black finish dashboard unlike Audi’s previous cars.
Talking about exteriors, first look of A3 can make you confuse between A3, A4 and A6 because of its similar designing the main difference you will see in Ultra large grills with glossy black, Headlamps with signature LED daylight running light, front fog lights, Heated rear window, side view of A3 is stunning with big classy alloy wheels and ORVM’s with LED blinkers gives A3 the sporty looks.
Colors:
Audi A3 marks its presence with 6 freaking colors that’s are Misano red, Scuba blue, beluga brown, floret silver, Brilliant Black, Metallic white. These colors are very trendy with the excellent paint quality.
Safety:
As far as safety is concerned it comes with total 6 airbags with front, side & Head air bags. It also has early crash sensors, Anti-slip regulation (ASR) which reduces chances of slips or spin, ABS+EBD and seat belt reminders for front and rear seats, Traction controls. It also has active bonnet system which reduces the chance of accident; it is also built with ESC technique which divides the tyre braking in accidental situation by reducing the torque power at that moment.

Audi is always known for its royal and luxurious styling and A3 proves it right once again with marvelous external and internal design, premium quality upholstery and powerful engine performances. Audi launched its entry level car and the Entry level price sedan in the segment to capture big market segment.
