News on launch of All new Honda Jazz- Price, Specifications and Features

Finally, the much awaited third-Gen Honda Jazz has been launched in India in a price domain of Rs. 5.30-8.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). All-new Honda jazz is available in five trims-E, S, SV, V and VX along with 12 variants (Five diesel and seven petrol). The Jazz will rival against the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo in Indian market. It is built on company’s new platform and new design technology, the car comes with 95 percent local content.

An international bestseller which already sold in 75 countries and has over 55 lakh happy customers was launched in India in 2009. But due to unavailability of diesel engine and low localization level which forced carmaker to discontinue it from India. But Honda is back with a bang by solving both these issues. Here is what new Jazz has to offer:-

Price:

The third GEN Honda Jazz is competitively priced as compared to previous GEN model. The E base petrol variant is priced at Rs. 5.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and goes up to Rs. 7.29 lakh for the top MT (Vx) variant. The car is also available with CVT gearbox which is priced at Rs. 6.99 and 7.85 lakh respectively.

On the contrary, the diesel starts at Rs. 6.49 lakh and goes up to Rs. 8.59 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine details:

This time around Honda Jazz is available with both petrol and diesel engines-1.2L i-VTEC and a 1.5L i-DTEC mill. The 1.2L i-VTEC four cylinder engine is same from Amaze and Brio which produces 88.7bhp power@6000rpm and 110Nm of high torque@4800rpm, linked to a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The new Jazz promises a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.7 KMPL for manual and 19 KMPL for CVT gearbox.

Coming to the diesel which has been introduced for the first time in Jazz, it’s the same engine which does duty in City and Mobilio. The 1.5L i-DTEC is good enough to produce 98.5bhp power@3600rpm and 200Nm of torque@1750rpm, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The highlighting factor of this engine is the fuel efficiency, with 27.3 KMPL of mileage new Jazz is India’s second most fuel efficient car.

Space and Dimensions:

Measuring 3955mm in length, 1694 wide, 1594mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2530mm (13mm longer than old jazz), new Jazz is longer, wider and spacious than its predecessor. The boot capacity is measured at 354 liters which can be further expanded up to 882 liters by folding the rear seats. The car comes with oodles of storage options and offers plenty amount of legroom and headroom space for the five passengers.

Exterior and Interior:

All new Honda Jazz is based on company’s new H-design philosophy; it looks sportier and sharper than before. Starting from the front, it gets bold front grille with matte black and chrome finish, city inspired single barred sleek headlamps with integrated indicators and unique bumper pattern with circular fog lamps.

Coming to the sides, it looks pretty much identical to city sedan with deep creases which merge into rear. Apart from creases it gets body color OVRMs and door handles, a set of new 15” alloy wheels, blackened B and C pillars to add to the sporty character of the car. Rear side of the Jazz could grab mix opinions with large roof spoiler, distinct looking LED tail lamps, a thick chrome stripe with H badge and rear bumper with rectangular mesh.

Step inside the cabin and you will witness a touch of refreshing feel with number of mouth watering features and spacious cabin. It comes with an array of exclusive features such as 15.7cm touchscreen infotainment system with AVN, Smartphone integration, voice activated navigation and bluetooth connectivity with DVD/CD playback. On lower variants, you get beige color dashboard and cabin inlays while the top variants boasts all black theme with silver accents.

In terms of features, all new Honda Jazz sports a 5 inch screen for reverse parking display and climate control, sporty multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters, electric folding outer mirrors, power windows for all doors, seat back pockets and magic seats with four modes (Long, utility, tall and refresh).             

Colors:

The new Jazz is available in seven electrifying colors- Carnelian red pearl, Golden brown metallic, urban titanium metallic, Orchid white pearl, Alabaster Silver metallic, taffeta brown and Sunset orange(new and exclusive) color shades.

Safety:

Honda has equipped new Jazz with plenty of essential safety features such as dual front SRS airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake distribution), reverse camera with multi view display and guiding lines, pedestrian injury mitigation technology, impact mitigation headrests which reduces the head injuries during the rear impacts. Other features include front fog lamps, LED high mount stop lamp and central locking.
