Hyundai Grand i10-Expert Reviews

Hyundai’s has recently produced its new hatchback ‘Grand i10’ and is still under the testing phase. Though the car has i10 suffix after its name but it’s not really like i10, instead it is more of i20 especially considering its size and features. The car is expected to be launched by September mid after the auto-show in Frankfurt. The price of the car is not known yet but it is expected to be marginal greater than i20. Here’s what the experts have to say about the car.

Table of Contents

Exteriors:

The teaser pic released shows the bold front fog lamps and older headlamps as in i20. The front grill is quite large bifurcated by the Grand i10 logo plastic board thus giving a trapezium shape to the lower part. The bonnet is ended by a thin chrome strip containing the brand logo. But one thing is for sure that this new car will also follow the ‘fluidic design philosophy’ like all latest Hyundai cars. LED day time running lights can’t be seen in the pic so likely that the car doesn’t have it. At the rear the tail lamps have a stylish shape unique to this model, there’s also a rear wiper and the hatch is almost the same as in i20. Talking of side profile the doubly coloured wheels which are most probably alloy made add to the looks of the car but the door handles aren’t body coloured. The car also has roof railings and ORVMs seems to have turn indicators on them.

Under the Hood:

The car will be available in 2 versions; 1.2l Kappa petrol and the 1.1l U2 diesel engine. While the petrol version is likely to have both automatic and manual transmission, the diesel version will have only manual transmission. The NVH level of the car is very low that is the engine is almost silent. The ride quality is expected to be good providing a mileage figure of around 24kmpl which is highest for a Hyundai car.

Interiors:

the inside of the car seems to be more spacious than either i10 or i20 because of slight increase in size of this car. The upholstery can be a combination of leather and fabric, but one things for sure it will be quite comfortable. There is a glovebox, various pockets here and there and cup holders, a descent air conditioner with the first-in- class rear a/c vents, automatic start, audio memory, power steering with audio controls on it, integrated music system with Bluetooth and USB ports. The seating level is apt for perfect visibility of the front and back and also the gear levers are thoughtfully placed on the dashboard just like i10.

Safety:

the car will have all major safety measures like seat belt reminder, engine immobiliser, min 2 airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking and child locking systems.

Well this is all we can say of this yet to be launched Hyundai car! Rest we’ll update this section only after the launch, with the expert and user reviews.
