With just a week left before the launch of Skoda’s New Octavia,i.e. 9th of August, the excitement of the car lovers is increasing, let’s get a sneak peak of the inside story as to what this new car shall offer.The price of car starts at Rs. 13.95 lacs. It can be considered as the modified version of Octavia and is a D-segment sedan class car. It has softer lines and curves than Octavia and is longer, wider with broader wheelbase than it which definitely increases the cabin space. The car is also lighter in weight due to the MQB platform borrowed from Volkswagon.
Features:
On the exteriors there is sporty front bumper and a stylish Grill holding the new brand logo ‘Laurin and Klement’ proudly, which shall grace all Skoda cars from now on. The base model has halogen headlights while the top variant has been blessed with bi-xenon headlamps with daytime LED lights and Full LED taillamps. The side profile of the car is almost similar to Octavia, its predecessor. The 16 inch wheels have been beautified with 10 spokes and are similar to that of Volkswagon cars.
Interiors:
There’s a revised music system and new display screen with touch. For better drivability features like adaptive cruise control, parking assist have been included in this model. Other additions include optional keyless entry, automatic door and ignition system, panoramic sunroof, dual zone air conditioners, CD/MP3 with Infrared remote controller, appealing wood finish and impressive leather upholstery. The predecessor had only 2 airbags, but this one have 6 airbags, other safety features which this car will have are parking sensors with sound, automatic lane guidance, emergency city braking system and ABS with EBD.
Under the hood:
As per Skoda India, the new Octavia will be available in both petrol and diesel engines and 3 variants namely Ambiente, Elegance and L&K. Ambiente will be available in both petrol with 1.8 TSI turbo engine offering 118 KW of power and diesel 2.0 TDi engine offering 105 KW of power . Elegance will be available in both the versions i.e. diesel and petrol with 2.0 TDi engine offering 105KW of power. All the variants possess manual as well as automatic transmission. Though, right now not much information is available to calculate the fuel efficiency but it should be somewhere around 15-16 kmpl.
The car will be available in exciting 5 colours including the anthracite Grey and Cappuccino Beige. As the 9th of august is approaching near the desperation of Skoda is increasing, as the hopes are high from this car and might revive the lost sheen of brand Skoda in Indian markets. The car is heavily tested on Indian terrains and to completely satisfy Indian customers/buyers with the performance, comfort and ride quality.
