As reported, Honda is all set to introduce the facelift City including the new diesel variant on 7th Jan 2014 while bookings have already begun from the starting of December at just Rs. 50000. Being one of the most popular sedans in India, Honda City has made a solid and trustworthy image of this company since its very first launch in India in 1996, but the major reason behind this launch of diesel version is said to be increment in petrol prices which somehow affecting its sales and also the popularity of diesel version in Indian car market.
As the stock of ongoing Honda City has been completely sold out now, the upcoming demand of this sedan could only be fulfilled after the launch of new Honda City 2014. It is rumored that company will unveiled this facelift version along with the all new Honda Jazz and Mobilio in Indian Auto Expo 2014, one can book this new car now by paying just Rs. 50000 though.
The petrol version’s cost will be the same as now while the diesel version will cost Rs. 80000 more than the Honda City (petrol). Currently, this petrol sedan comes with a price range of 7.29-10.62 lakhs including the automatic variant and hence diesel version could have price tag of 8-10 lakhs.
While it is going to have new 1.5 liter, i-DTEC diesel engine with the expected power output of 99bhp and torque 200Nm, the ongoing 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine with 116bhp and 146Nm of max power and torque respectively will also continue with this sedan. The engine is expected to mate with same 5-speed manual gearbox.
It would be same in dimension like the ongoing car which is 4440mm*1695mm*1495mm having seating capacity for five. While its ground clearance is 165mm, the boot space is 510 liter.
It is expected to redesigned completely and get a new sportier look with the headlamps wrapped with projector lights, modified LED tail lamps etc. Though complete premium features list could only be received by its launch.
As per the news release by Honda, company is going to introduce a new design concept with this sedan namely ‘Exciting H Design!!!’, these three exclamatory signs define its three design factors which are:
- High Tech: defines its creative soul.
- High tension: defines the chase of pleasant body structure and layout.
- High Touch: defines delicately-honed surfacing and texture.
Honda is claiming that by combining these three factors into car’s interior and exterior design, more exclusive and appealing design will be realized. We can’t ignore the people’s love for this amazing trendy sedan, let’s see now how this new renovated diesel variant car make blast in the car market and gives a tough competition to its nearest competitor Hyundai Verna. The lover and admirer of this royal and jazzing sedan could book their dream car now but you’ll have to wait for its delivery till the launch.
