Audi has announced the launch of its one of the bestselling cars in India the new generation Audi A4 sedan. The new A4 30 TFSI is made available in two variants Premium plus and technology which has been priced at Rs. 38.10 lakh and Rs. 41.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. Based on Audi’s MLB Evo platform, next Generation is 95 kgs lighter than the outgoing model. Booking will be open at Audi dealerships across India from tomorrow onwards.
Engine Details
The new Gen Audi A4 has been launched with just one engine option i.e. 1.4 litre TFSI turbocharged petrol mill. It is the same engine that powers many Volkswagen cars; the mill is good for 147bhp power@5000-6000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500-3500rpm. The engine is linked to a 7-speed S tronic automatic gearbox but misses out on Audi’s Quattro AWD system. It dashes 0-100km/hr in just 8.5 seconds before hitting the top speed of 210km/hr. Audi claims that the A4 delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 17.84 Kmpl.
Space and Dimensions
In its fifth generation, Audi A4 is 25mm longer, 16mm wider and sits on a 12mm longer wheelbase. At the tape, the entry level luxury sedan measures 4726mm in length, 1842mm in width, 1427mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2820mm. Better dimensions mean more space especially at rear.
Colors
The 2016 Audi A4 is available in five graceful colors- Ibis white, floret silver metallic, mythos black metallic, tango red metallic and moonshine blue metallic.
Exterior and Interior
The new A4 looks sleeker and sharper and carries the evolutionary design to keep it in line with its siblings. It now gets famed LED matrix headlights flanked by chrome dipped hexagonal 3D front grille, 17 inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights and three box proportions add some classiness to sedan.
On the equipment front, A4 is quintessential with new MMI system with 8.3 inch display screen with Android Auto, Apple car play, Audi Smartphone integrated support and has touchpad controller to zoom in and out characters. Other features include electrically adjustable front power seats with 4-way lumbar support, tri-zone automatic climate control, 755 watt Bang and Olufsen 3D surround system with 19 speakers, storage phone box with wireless charging, fully digital instrument cluster, leather draped multi-function steering wheel, sunroof and much more.
Safety
Safety highlights include eight airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, Audi parking system plus with rear view camera, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), adaptive front-end collision protection, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters for all seats, hill hold assist, anti-theft wheel bolts, electronic stability program with axle differential lock, brake assist with electromechanical parking brake and much more.
