Mercedes Benz is coming with its powerhouse luxury SUV, no we are not talking about the GLA compact SUV which is all set to be released on 30th September. We are here to talk about the new entrant in Luxury SUV segment GLA 45 AMG crossover which will launch in the month of festivals in India i.e. October. It can be said that GLA 45 AMG is compact version of recently launched CLA 45 AMG.
Mercedes will launch less powered version of GLA which is coming on last date of this month, which is powered by 1.6L engine producing 153BHP power and 250nm torque, while another 2.2L that produces 133BHP power and 320nm torque. Both the engines are equipped with 7 Speed Automatic transmission. GLA is less powered when we compare it with rivals like Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Mercedes Benz will arrive with more powerful; more hunky GLA 45 AMG for those who wants more fun and dominating driving GLA 45 AMG is perfect for them. GLA 45 AMG is equipped with same CLA AMG engine which is 2L In-line four AMG engine with the maximum power of 355BHP and 450nm torque mated with 7 speed twin clutch transmission.
This is one of the most powerful engine one would ever see in SUV, 2L engine which is based on 4-Matic system which gives power to all four wheels. This engine sprints 0-100 km in just 4.8 seconds with the blistering top speed of 250 KM/HR. Driver will have the option to run this machine in three modes- M, S and C in which ‘M’ stands for Manual, ‘S’ for Sports and ‘C’ for controlled efficiency.
On talking of changes, GLA AMG will get similar or we can typical AMG styling with two tone treatment with diffuser and Dual tail exhausts. We can expect larger air dams and new grille with AMG badge, more aggressive overall looks, Polished heads etc.
GLA 45 AMG will compete against BMW X1 and AUDI Q3 but when we GLA 45 with both these cars it stands out far more better in terms of specification and performance. Price of GLA 45 AMG will be steeply priced which might be around 70-75 lakhs, with the features and so much powerpacked performance, it’s a steal.
