Maruti Vitara Brezza gets 40,000 bookings, waiting period extends to six months

Maruti Suzuki is off to blistering start with Vitara Brezza as it already received around 40,000 bookings in just one month. The car is the first offering from the carmaker in the compact SUV segment which was launched with an introductory price of Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As a result of such warm response, waiting period now increased to six months while some dealerships have announced the waiting period of over 11 months on certain variants.

Maruti already has dispatched 5563 units of the SUV since the deliveries commenced from 25th March 2016. The Vitara Brezza is available in six different variants-LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+. According to reports, the top spec Zdi+ dual tone version grabs more than 50 percent of the total bookings.

It is available with 1.3 liter DDis diesel mill only which is capable of 89bhp of power@4000rpm and 200Nm of torque@1750rpm, linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox which transmits power to front wheels. It deliveries a class leading ARAI certified mileage of 24.3 KMPL. Taking into account the overwhelming demand and to reduce the waiting period, company has decided to boost the production from 80,000 to 1, 00,000 units annually.

Maruti Vitara is packed with decent design language flanked by projector headlights with LED DRLs, dual tone color shades option. The cabin is loaded with first in segment 7-inch touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system with Apple car play, Smartlink navigation, reversing camera, dual airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

Maruti is also planning to introduce 1.0 litre booster jet and AMT gearbox in the coming months which will further enhance the already record breaking sales of Vitara Brezza.
