It has been just two months Since Maruti has launched its much anticipated Sedan ‘Ciaz’ which is now being recalled by Maruti to fix clutch related issue that company is calling it as precautionary service campaign rather than recall so they can minimize the possibility of any inconvenience to the customers in the future. Cars manufactures till 7th November will be recalled by the company.
Maruti Suzuki India in a statement has said, “Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will proactively undertake a service campaign to inspect a suspected fault and replace the relevant part of clutch operation system of a batch of 3,796 Ciaz (manual transmission) Cars”.
Maruti Suzuki has said that the dealers have started communicating the owners of imparted vehicles. But if you want to check that your car is in that list or not you can fill the chassis number MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha numeric number in the Maruti’s official website i.e. www.marutisuzuki.com to cross check their Ciaz is part of service campaign or not.
Newly arrived Sedan from Maruti have received more than decent response from the buyers as it gathers more than 17,000 bookings in its first month launch and have beaten the segment ruler Honda City in its first month in terms of sales. Ciaz is available in both petrol and diesel engine option with four variants each.
Ciaz was launched at the affordable price of 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and best in class fuel efficiency of 26.21 KPL diesel mileage beating Honda City. On the one side Maruti’s sales figures in the month of November has been up by 19.5% at 1, 10,147 units and on the other side Ciaz has been recalled by Maruti over this fault.
In April 2014 Maruti had summoned back around 1, 03,311 units of Ertiga, Old Swift and Dzire which manufactured between November 12, 2013 and February 2014 to replace defective fuel filler neck. Apart from the in September 2014 MSI recalled 69,555 units of Dzire, Swift and Ritz manufactured between March 2010 and August 2013 to repair Wiring harness fitment.
