Maruti’s Ciaz seems to be most popular car nowadays, whether it is an effect of brilliant advertisement strategy of Maruti or people are impressed by what Ciaz has to offer, let’s leave this on time. Maruti dealers registered over 6000 bookings in 2 weeks, according to sources 3000 bookings were registered in just 3 days after the commencement of bookings from 3rd September 2014. Well it’s become so popular despite of being it is not available in showroom, that’s commendable proving critics and analysts wrong who are saying that Ciaz is no different from just an ordinary car.
Maruti dealers are accepting bookings for the sum of Rs. 21,000 which will be refunded if you don’t like a car once you drive it. Reason behind of such might be the claimed fuel efficiency by Maruti which is 26.21 KPL for Diesel and 20.73 KPL for Petrol, Diesel mileage is claimed to be India’s most efficient mileage which was being ruled by Honda city with 26 KPL.
Maruti Ciaz carries distinct features like upgraded music system, defoggers, projector headlamps, 16 inch alloy wheels, ABS, two airbags, automatic IRVMs, rear A/C vents, rear parking camera, climate control etc.
Maruti Ciaz will be available in total six variants Vxi/Vxi+, Vdi, Vdi+ and Zxi/Zdi. Petrol and Diesel engines will be mated with 5 Speed manual transmissions, with torque convertor automatic gearbox for petrol.
Ciaz will be launched in two engine options- Petrol and Diesel both the engines are Maruti Ertiga aspiring. 1.4L K series petrol engine which produce 91.1BHP power and 130nm torque, while 1.3L Diesel engine which returns 89BHP power and 200nm torque. On paper, Specs of engines are lesser than what its competitors are offering like Honda city, Hyundai Verna etc, Fuel efficiency might be the reason for such successful popularity.
Ciaz is expected to be between the price bracket of 7-10 lakhs and will lock it horns with the likes of Honda city, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Nissan Sunny.
