Maruti’s most anticipated car and Sx4’s replacement ‘Ciaz’ is all set to launched in September. Maruti has recently released a teaser starring a cat which is driving the car. Teaser doesn’t tell much about car except the fact that it is a cool, longer and wider car.
Ciaz will arrive with lots of expectation especially from Maruti’s side as Maruti is hoping to establish and strengthen their position in this segment which is currently being ruled by Honda city. Our resources told us that Maruti has already started it production with 1000-2500 units already produced. Maruti dealers will start taking pre-bookings from 1 September 2014.
Mechanically, Ciaz is powered with two engine options; one is 1.4L K14 petrol engine producing 93.5BHP power and 130nm torque and second is 1.3L Multijet DDis Diesel engine with 88.8BHP power and 200nm peak torque. Both the engine will come with 5 speed manual transmission with an option of CVT (continuously varying transmission) automatic along with petrol trim, this news is not confirmed yet.
Petrol engine will be offered in 3 variants Vxi, VXi+ and Zxi, while diesel also with 3 variants VDi, VDi+ and ZDi.
In terms of features Top variant of Ciaz will be equipped with 5 inch TFT display, automatic climate control, Push start button, ABS, EBD and dual air bags. Moreover features like music system, rear defoggers, speed sensing door locks, projector headlamps and central locking comes as standard features.
Maruti Ciaz will compete against the likes of Honda city, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Nissan Sunny.
