After a long wait, Toyota’s Luxury division, Lexus has commenced its operations in India with the launch of three cars- ES 300h, RX 450h, and LX 450d. These uber luxury cars are geared up to take on Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volvo and JLR. Bookings have been commenced while deliveries will begin next month. The carmaker has announced the prices of two models- ES300h and RX 450h. The former is priced at Rs 55.27 lakh while latter is available in two variants- Rs. 1.07 crore (Luxury) and Rs. 1.10 crore (F-Sport) variant (ex-showroom Delhi). The third model ‘LX450d’ will be launched at a later stage.
Lexus is making its debut in India with four dealerships- Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru while its service centers will be set up in Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi. All the cars will be brought to the country via CBU route.
Engine Details
The SUV is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The petrol motor generates 262PS power and 335Nm of torque while electric motor is good for 68PS of power and 139Nm of torque. Hence, combined output stands at 313PS power and 361Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an E-CVT gearbox and it can make 0-100 km/hr sprint in 7.7 seconds with the top speed of 200km/hr. It has four drives- Normal, Eco, port and EV.
Space and Dimensions
The big SUV measures 4890mm in length, 1895mm in width, 1685mm in height and sits on the wheelbase of 2790mm. It offers a decent boot space of 453 liters and 195mm of ground clearance.
Exterior and Interior
Front fascia is dominated by large familiar spindle grille, sharp headlamps with LED DRLs. Side gets prominent character lines, massive alloy wheels with flared wheel arches and a floating roof. At rear, LED tail lights with chrome strip and roof spoiler adorns the overall design of RX 450h.
For features, it sports a 12.3 inch Electro multi vision (EMV), front seat AC, dual zone automatic climate control, 10-way driver and passenger adjustable seats with memory, panoramic sunroof, color head up display, wireless charger, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Reference surround sound system etc.

The Lexus RX 450h can be had in 12 exciting colors heat blue contrast layer, black, graphite black glass flake, deep blue mica, sonic titanium, sleek ecru metallic, amber crystal shine, mercury gray mica, white nova glass flake, sonic quartz, and red mica crystal shine.
Safety
Safety features are similar to its sedan sibling includes 10 SRS airbags, parking assist, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), vehicle stability control, reverse parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, child seat anchor points etc.
