Just In: Tata Harrier launched in India

The much-awaited Tata Harrier has been finally launched in the country. The pre-bookings for the mid-size SUV started in mid-October last year and deliveries will begin now . The car is offered in four variants and  are priced in a manner that they overlay the SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass. While people who want to buy Creta will be impressed by Harrier’s huge size and Compass customers will be attracted by Harrier’s value for money. Check out the features of the car below:

Engine:

Under the hood the Harrier gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine sourced from Fiat, it makes 140PS of max power and 350Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the front wheels only through a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Hyundai will be introduced at a later stage. Unfortunately, Tata says it will not be offering the Harrier with a four-wheel drive system anytime soon.

The top-spec XZ variant gets an 8.8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, a 9-speaker JBL sound system that also includes a subwoofer, a 7-inch MID (multi-info display) in the instrument cluster, HID projector headlamps, fog lamps with cornering function, six airbags, ESP, hill hold control, hill descent control, rollover mitigation, corner stability control, electronic traction control, terrain response modes and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The XT variant also gets  many features. It has dual front airbags, LED DRLs which also act as turn indicators, 17-inch alloy wheels, push-button start-stop, and auto climate control. There is rain-sensing wipers, electrically foldable ORVMs, automatic headlamps, cruise control and a cooled storage box underneath the front armrest.
