Just In: Maruti S-Presso launched

After its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, Maruti has finally launched the S-Presso micro-SUV a new entry-level model in the carmaker’s lineup. The car is available in a total of nine variants and is priced from INR 3.69 lakh to INR 4.91 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Features:

The car is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.0-liter petrol engine that produces 68PS and 90Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual with the option of a 5-speed AMT as well. The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency for both is claimed to be 21.7 kmpl.

Talking about the design the S-Presso’s exteriors design indicate that it is a budget vehicle. It gets large black bumpers with rugged appeal and small steel wheels. The grille design is similar to Maruti Vitara Brezza.

The car has an interesting interior design, it is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster readout, and steering-mounted audio controls. The cluster and infotainment display is both places at the center of the dashboard, encircled by bright orange inserts. The front power windows and emergency controls are located within the circle.

On the safety front, the S-Presso comes with a driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, front seatbelt reminders, speed alert, and ABS as standard. The front passenger airbag and front seatbelt pre-tensioners are offered as part of an optional variant which adds INT 6,000 to the price tag.

The Maruti S-Presso will compete with rivals like Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-GO. It might also compete with WagonR and Santro.
