Just In: Honda Jazz facelift launched

After a long absence from the premium hatchback segment, Honda’s Jazz has finally received the BS6 update along with some other refreshments. It is the same facelifted model that was launched in international markets a few years ago. It is available in three variants: V, VX, and ZX (new top-spec variant).

With this facelift, Honda has axed the diesel variants of the Jazz. The update has made the hatchback costlier, however, the base spec V variant offered with the CVT gearbox sees a drop as compared to BS4 pricing.

Changes:

Engine:

In terms of engine, the BS6 Jazz is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine while the previously offered 1.5-liter diesel engine (100PS/200Nm) has been shown the door. The petrol unit pushes out 90PS and 110Nm and is available with both 5-speed manual and 7-step CVT transmission options. Whereas the manual gearbox comes as standard, the CVT gearbox is offered as an option from the base variant.

Talking about the changes, the facelifted Jazz gets a sportier-looking front bumper with hexagonal design elements for housing the LED fog lamps. While it was previously updated with LED tail lamps, Honda has now given the LED treatment to the headlamps (with DRLs) that flank the revised front grille. The updated Jazz also features a slightly tweaked rear bumper for a more premium and sportier appeal.

Well, there are no changes inside its cabin and continues to be offered with a dual-tone interior. Like the BS4 model, the new Jazz still features cruise control, paddle-shifter (CVT variants only), a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto AC, and a sunroof (limited to the top-spec ZX variant).

The design of the 15-inch alloy wheels remains unchanged from the BS4 model. Safety features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

Honda’s Jazz will rival Maruti Suzuki Baleno/Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz, Hyundai Elite i20, and Volkswagen Polo.
