Jaguar has expanded the availability of new Ingenium 2.0 liter petrol engine to XE, XF, and F-Pace SUV. It is for the first time the engine is available in the cars after making its debut at New York Motor show in F-Type. The engine produces 296bhp of max power and 406Nm of high torque. With the new engine, Jaguar claims improved fuel efficiency of all three cars. The CO2 emission for XE and XF stands at 157g/km and 163g/km respectively.
Thanks to the new engine, XE sports can propel 0-100km/hr in just 5.5 seconds, while XF can able to achieve same in just 5.6 seconds. In the F-Pace SUV, the new engine is the slowest as it can sprint 0-100 km/hr in 6 seconds. The new engine is developed at engine manufacturing center in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
The engine also benefits from the advanced JLR technologies like ceramic ball bearings, twin scroll bars, and high compressor flow wheel. Other updates likely to come during new updates are the hands-free function for the boot lid, 360-degree camera system with front-rear viewing angles, new comfort features, and new trim packages.
JLR is also looking to replace V6 engines with 3.0 liter six cylinder Ingenium petrol motors. Earlier this year, a new range of Ingenium engines were introduced which was limited to XF and XF including 200bhp and 250bhp of 2-litre engine. A 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine was also introduced which develops 240bhp of max output.
