Hyundai i20 Active and Elite i20 get new top-end variants

In recent times, Hyundai India is doing some serious alterations in its product line-up. We reported earlier that the company is confiscating some features on Eon and Elite i20 hatchbacks. However, Hyundai is now offering a touchscreen infotainment system on Elite i20 and i20 active. The new feature will be seen on a new trim called SX on i20 active and the Asta (O) trim of Elite i20 respectively.

The Elite i20 is currently the bestselling model for Hyundai in India which sells around 10,000 units a month. Despite one of the most feature rich car in its segment, has been deprived of a particular feature i.e. touchscreen infotainment system. Recently launched new Honda Jazz is giving a cut throat competition to elite i20 in terms of features which include an AVN touchscreen system too.

Both the cars get the same unit seen on recently launched Creta compact SUV. The seven inch touchscreen offers Aux-in, USB as connectivity, satellite based voice navigation, pre-loaded maps, suggestive keyboard which make searching location easy. The screen doubles up with reverse parking camera assistance which was previously shown on rear mirror.

The AVN system comes with bluetooth connectivity that allow user to synchronize their Smartphone to the in-car entertainment app and allow users to carry out functions on screen including dialing and answering to the phone calls. The new Asta (O) variant of Elite i20 will be positioned above the Asta variant, so it carry this new system along with all the features of Asta trim.

The same 17.8cm AVN touchscreen system is offered with i20 active SX trim which also sport features like automatic climate control, steering mounted controls with adjustment, start/stop button, dual airbags and many more.

Hyundai is also pepping up to launch same AVN system in Verna as well which is slated for Diwali launch.
