Unveiled in the UK last month, Hyundai Grand i10 facelift has been doing test runs in India for a while now. Now reports have confirmed that the facelift would have its official India debut in January 2017. Current model was launched in 2013 and is one of the bestselling models in its segment and for Hyundai as well. In India, old i10 and Grand i10 are sold simultaneously while around the globe it was replaced by new i10.
The Indian version will be aesthetically inspired with the new i10 for the European and UK markets earlier this year. The facelift will look younger than before thanks to familiar curved flowing line known as cascading grille, minor tweaks on the headlamps, reworked front bumper with set of funky round LED daytime running lights incorporated at the top edge of front grille.
Sides will remain same albeit new alloy wheel design and redesigned side mouldings while rear will get beefed up bumper and black cladding covering major portion at rear to round off the updated design of grand i10.
Inside the facelifted grand i10 things could be highlighted with a seven inch touchscreen system with audio-video navigation, Apple car play and Android auto. The front seats will get new upholstery and fixed headrests will be replaced with the adjustable ones. Interior will boasts all-black/blue colour scheme.
Mechanically, new model will remain same and continue to feature with 1.2l Kappa petrol engine that develops 82bhp power and 116Nm of torque. The 1.1 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine is good for 70bhp power and 163Nm of torque. When launched, the new Grand i10 will take on Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Fiat Punto Evo and Tata Tiago. Apart from Grand i10 facelift, Hyundai is also working on Xcent facelift and New Verna.
