Here is another great piece of news for Hyundai aficionados. The car of the year now gets an automatic transmission on the mid Magna trim to boost the sales momentum ahead of festive season. Hyundai has added a new 1.4 litre petrol engine that’s comes linked with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
In addition, to enhance the safety element of the hatchback, Asta (O) variant is now equipped six airbags including side and curtain airbags make it slightly more expensive. The petrol Asta (O) is now priced at Rs. 7.76 lakh while diesel sets you back at Rs. 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Prices of both the trims are 15,000 higher over the current pricing. Earlier this year, i20 and i20 active gets dual front airbags as standard across the range.
The new 1.4l four cylinder petrol engine is capable of 98bhp@6000rpm and 132Nm of torque@4000rpm. In comparison, the ongoing 1.2l Kappa petrol engine is good for 82bhp@6000rpm and 114Nm of torque@4000rpm matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Coming to goodies, the AT variant does not get any change to the feature list it continue to get 2 DIN infotainment system with bluetooth, USB, rear AC vent, electrically adjusted ORVMs, power steering, all four power windows and dual front airbags. Being based on mid trim level it miss out on certain features like touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, rear parking camera, automatic climate control, auto headlamps, ABS with EBD etc. At an expensive price of Rs. 9.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) New AT version is way expensive than its competitors like Maruti Baleno CVT, Ford Figo 1.5 AT and Honda Jazz CVT.
Besides adding airbags no changes have been made by Hyundai to the top Spec Asta (O) variant. The feature list include 7 inch audio video touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, rear parking camera with parking assist, impact and speed sensing auto door lock, leather packed steering wheel, 60:40 rear seat spilt and much more.
