Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) is thinking to hike the prices of its entire product range in India from the January 2014. HCIL, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo head quartered Honda, has four models at presence in India which includes the popular hatchback Brio, sedans Amaze & Accord and sports utility vehicle (SUV) CR-V.
Currently, these ongoing models have the price range between 4.12 lakhs and 24.57 lakhs.
While the Amaze offers both diesel as well as petrol variants, the other three models comes with petrol variant only. Also, company has unveiled the all new City which is going to be on-sale from the early 2014 with both variants i.e. diesel and petrol.
Though, company has not decided the exact range of increasing price but working on it, still we could definitely expect a price hike in limit.
According to Jnaneshwar Sen- HCIL Senior Vice-President, “We are looking to hike prices from the beginning of January. The Price hike will be across our entire model range comprising Amaze, Brio, CR-V and Accord.”
Company had already raised the prices of its models once in October by 2,000-10,000 as per the models range. Now the reason behind this price hike again is said to be the not so good condition of Indian car market due to price deflation etc. Before the Honda, many other car makers including BMW, Audi, Nissan etc have announced the increment in price of their models from the New Year.
