When there are just few no. of MPVs in India, seems like Ford has decided to test its luck in this segment too by providing a MPV by 2016. Though, no statement or news has come from the company side yet.
This new MPV is expected to be based on the Ford’s Ka concept which has been showcased at Brazil and then later at 12th Auto Expo 2014 in India. It is also being said that this new MPV can also be based on the Figo concept instead of Ka concept. There is not much difference between both except the longer wheelbase of Ka concept than Figo concept and different tail lamps. Confirm status could only be revealed by the company though.
Price:
As no such reports have come by the Ford India so the price tag can’t be guessed till then but still we expect company to launch it with quite competitive price range like its rivals in India.
Engine:
Ford’s this MPV is expected to carry the mechanical powers of company’s another car Fiesta which is 1.5 liter petrol as well as 1.5 liter diesel. However, it is also possible that it might equip with any single fuel only as of now. Also, the 1.0 liter EcoBoost unit from the EcoSport might be equipped too.

Car Zoom’s take:
Ford offers few models in India including its most popular EcoSport along with Figo, Fiesta, Endeavour etc but MPV segment is still new for this company. Needless to say, Ford still needs to develop its network coz its only two models EcoSport and Figo are doing well in country in terms of sales while others disappoint. Probably, this is the reason why company is going to hit the MPV segment’s floor soon.
