Ford will be launching its famed powerhouse car, Mustang on 28 January 2016 in India. Currently in sixth generation, the Mustang world premiered in 2014 on the special occasion of its 50th Anniversary. This is for the first time ever that Ford has developed a (RHD) right hand drive version this supercar and it will be making its presence to Indian shores via CBU route. Earlier the car was expected to make India debut at the forthcoming auto expo.
In terms of design, the car feature chrome surrounded black hexagonal grille housing mustang logo, HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, puddle lamps with mustang logo projection lights, front splitter and roundish fog lamps. The side unveils the coupe stance of the muscle car and sports five spoke alloy wheels, sloping roofline with prominent shoulder line, muscular wheel arches, and side skirts. At rear, it flaunts triple slate LED tail lamps with integrated turn signals.
The cabin of forthcoming Mustang promises to be more spacious and possess of better quality materials and finishing. Mustang is expected to be at its premium best with features like Ford SYNC infotainment system, four diving modes, locking glove box, rear view camera, leather upholstery, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, heated and cooled seats with leather upholstery, push start button, adaptive cruise control, shaker pro audio system with 12 speakers and large dials based on aviation theme.
Internationally the car is available with three engine options- 2.3l eco boost engine that develops 306bhp and 434Nm torque, a 3.7l Ti-VCT V6 engine that churns out max power of 297bhp and peak torque of 380Nm. The performance car is also available with bigger 5.0l engine which is good for developing massive output of 430bhp and 542Nm torque matched with a six speed automatic transmission alongside paddle shifters.
It is expected to come only with top of the line 5.0l V8 motor in the coupe version with a tentative price tag of Rs. 65-70 lakhs (ex-showroom).
