After Volkswagen now it’s time for Ford to incorporate safety tech in their vehicles. This time around the American auto giant has made ABS along with EBD as standard feature in the trend trims of Figo hatch and Aspire compact sedan. Just to remind, trend variant of the both vehicles are already equipped with dual front airbags as standard. Prior, ABS with EBD was only available in Titanium and Titanium+ variants.
Dual front airbags are now the part of entire line up of Figo duos except for the Ambiente trim which only gets drive side airbag. ABS is also missing from the base variants though we can expect carmaker to make this feature as standard soon. Besides, Ford has made dual front airbags as a standard feature across all the grades of EcoSport compact SUV.
Talking about the prices, Figo hatch petrol starts at Rs. 4.46 lakh and go all the way to Rs. 7.27 lakh while diesel sets you back at Rs. 5.55 lakh for the base trim and Rs. 7.17 lakh for the range topping Titanium plus trim. The sedan version is price between Rs. 5.28 lakh and 8.19 lakh for the petrol grades while the oil burner diesel comes at an introductory price of Rs. 6.37 lakh and goes to Rs. 7.89 lakh for the top variant. *All the prices are of ex-showroom Delhi.
Recently, Volkswagen has added ABS on Vento and Polo’s base trim making it standard across the line up. Ford has just followed the recent trend; most of the carmakers are either standardizing the safety features or offering advanced active or passive safety tech. This move is in regard with government’s plan of equipping new cars with dual front airbags and ABS as necessary features in coming years.
