If rumors are to be believed then Force Motors is in process to set up an engine manufacturing unit at Chengelpet, Tamil Nadu. It is being said that decision has come after a meeting of its board of directors a day before.
This new production plant will basically allow Force Motors to be an authorize centre to help to its so-called new customer as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Though, no official statement has come about this by the company yet, however, it is being speculated that this new unit of Force Motors will manufacture engines for the luxury car brand BMW.
This agreement will surely rise as a good news for BMW customers as the in-house engine production will automatically bring the costs down in the models of German manufacturer BMW. Currently, luxury manufacturer imported the car and engines and other parts from outside India which results as high pricing in BMW’s car.
Reportedly, this new plant will take Rs. 100 crore to invest by Force Motors for this project and the new production unit is expected to start working from early 2015. At this time, Force Motors already has three plants, one in Pithampur M.P. while two in Pune. Meanwhile, Force still assembles the Mercedes Benz engines and axles for all of its C, E, S and M Class models built in India.
