Renault’s first MPV Lodgy has been spied many times on Indian and international soil which is already available for sale in some European countries. French carmaker has just released the images of Indian spec Renault Lodgy with meek redesigned front fascia. Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga is all set to witness a fierce competitor in the form of Renault Lodgy which is all set to launch in early 2015.
According to the images Indian Lodgy looks identical to European spec version except the front grille which gets chrome garnishing instead of black plastic of Europe version and Indian Lodgy gets silver shade skid guards while international version has either body coloured or black ones.
Bulky looking Lodgy Side and rear profile is completely identical to international version with minor changes plus main change will be the new alloy wheels for the Indian version. The main difference would be in the interiors though not a drastic changes are except the right hand drive system, beige dashboard, circular A/C vents and more chrome treatment.
Company have disclosed any details about its power trains but we expect this beefy 7 seater MPV will get K9K 1.5L turbo diesel engine same that features in Duster which develops 85bhp power followed by 105bhp power engine to follow soon. There are rumours that Renault will offer Lodgy only in Diesel variant but petrol engine could be 105bhp one with six speed manual transmission while diesel is mated to five speed manual transmission.
As far as price range is concerned Renault will place Lodgy between aggressive price bracket of 7-9 lakh and will lock its horns against Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy etc. Lodgy will be comprises of parts from Duster and expected to be locally produced for less cost and competitive pricing.
