Datsun RediGO teased ahead of its world premiere on April 14, 2016

The Redi Go concept which was showcased during the 2016 Indian auto show seems to be getting production ready form. According to reports, the concept based car is all set to make its world premiere on 14th April 2016 at an event in New Delhi. To create a bit craze Datsun is now teasing the small car.

Based on Renault Kwid’s CMF-A platform, the entry level car will be slotted below the Datsun Go hatchback and will take on Hyundai Eon, Maruti Suzuki Alto and its own cousin Renault Kwid. The car has been spotted few times with full camouflage on the roads of Chennai near Renault Nissan factory.

While Kwid flaunts the SUV-ish look the RediGO would settle for the tall stance with higher ground clearance. The design is expected to be all new at least different from the current Datsun line up whereas interior too supposed to be better and safety too.

The RediGO will be powered by an 800cc 3-cylinder Petrol motor that is good to produce 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque, linked with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Going by the previous reports, it was speculated to get 1.2l Petrol engine which also powers Nissan Micra and Datsun Go.

Now it is rumored to get 1.0l SCe petrol with an AMT gearbox and 1.0l diesel engine. However both these will not launch initially, the latter is expected to make its way in 2017. As far as its price is concerned, it is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 2.3-3.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
