Datsun Redi-Go 1.0 to launch in India on July 26

After announcing pre-launch bookings for its new Redi-Go 1.0, Datsun has now announced that deliveries of the vehicle will commence from 26th July 2017. Interested customers can pre-book the vehicle for a fully refundable amount of Rs. 10,000. Like its sibling Kwid hatchback, Redi-go will be also offered in two variants. Since its debut in 2014, Datsun has sold over 90,000 units in India, the lineup includes Go hatch, Go+ MPV and Redi-go.

Underpinning the Kwid’s CMF-A platform, Redi-go will also utilise the three-cylinder petrol engine delivering 67bhp of max power and 91Nm of peak torque. Powering front wheels will be a five-speed manual gearbox. It is rated to deliver a fuel efficiency of 22.5 Kmpl. In addition, Datsun might offer AMT with Redi-go in the coming months.

Cosmetically, Redi-Go 1.0 is expected to remain unchanged save for the rear badge and LED DRLs. On the inside, it will come with features like Keyless entry, manual AC, power steering, all black interiors with chrome and an optional airbag. Once launched, it will take on Renault Kwid, Hyundai Eon, Tata Nano and Maruti Alto 800 in the Indian market.

The hatchback has tall boy stance and comes with a healthy ground clearance of 185mm. The new 1.0-liter version is likely to come at a premium around Rs. 20,000-25,000 over the current range.
