Ford has unveiled a new crossover that is the Ford Freestyle will soon make its Indian debut. The company is calling it a CUV that is a compact utility vehicle. This new CUV comes with an updated design and additional body cladding. With this new car, Ford enters the segment that is full of competitions and the Freestyle will rival Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Urban Cross. The Freestyle will be a ‘Made-in-India’ product and will also be exported to the European markets while its Latin America models will be made in Brazil. Engine Details
The engine options the CUV carries are a 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine that produces 100 bhp and the new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine makes 94 bhp. Both the engines come mated to a 5-Speed gearbox.
Exterior and Interior
The Ford freestyle gets cadding packed bumpers along with super styling updates such as blacked out wing mirrors and roof rails. It has LED lighting in order to make it look more contemporary and different from the other hatchbacks. For its interiors, the CUV gets all black interiors with an infotainment system that has smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the company’s SYNC3 connectivity system. The company gives the Freestyle a 6-5-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system sourced from the EcoSport facelift this time.
Expected Price
The price for the CUV is expected to be in between 5.5 Lakh INR to 8.5 Lakh INR.
Expected launch
It is said to launch in India in April 2018.
