Chevrolet has reached another milestone with its hatchback ‘Beat’ surpassing one million mark worldwide, earlier this year Chevrolet has witnessed the achievement of selling 3rd million Cruze all over the world. Beat was launched in 2009 built in 11 different manufacturing set up across the world and sold more than 100 countries.
In current scenario Beat or Spark is available in 71 countries with maximum selling graph in South Korea and then followed by Mexico and in USA it holds 10% sales figures till date. Alone in India Chevrolet has sold 1,78,000 lakh units during five years. The Chevrolet beat is available in both Petrol and diesel; it also comes in eco-friendly CNG avatar.
The 1.0L diesel engine which produces 56BHP power@4000rpm and 142.5Nm torque @1700rpm mated to 5 speed manual transmission which delivers one of the most efficient mileage in India of 25.44 KPL, while 1.2L Petrol engine is responsible for producing 79BHP power@6200rpm and 108Nm torque@4400rpm with the fuel efficiency of 18 KPL and equipped with 5 speed MT.
On 25th September General motors’ have exported 140 left handed car lot from its Talegaon manufacturing plant to Chile in South America in recent times. GM is lining up more export markets for India based beat in near future.
Mr. Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India on this achievement has said, “Chevrolet Beat, the most fuel efficient diesel hatchback in India has been appreciated for its technology and is increasingly selected by young buyers both in India and abroad. And following its huge success in India, the Chevrolet was subsequently launched in other parts of the world.
In 2014, Chevrolet beat is the only car in mini car segment to receive IIHS Top safety pick title. During this year sales of Chevrolet has been increased by 9% especially among the car buyers under the age of 35 years.
“Our Small cars- Spark, Sonic and Cruze- attract more new car buyers to Chevrolet than any other Vehicles in the lineup, with more than 60 percent of buyers never owing a Chevy before,” Said Alan Batey Executive Vice-president of Global Chevrolet.
