Toyota has made a unique presence in this 12th Auto Expo by unveiling new as well as facelift models. Well, among those showcased cars, here we are talking about its updated sedan, the all New Toyota Corolla Altis which has been unveiled by the company now. While its booking have been started, the price range is expected to unveil by the company till the mid of ongoing year.
Price:
If reports are to be believed, company has geared up its price too with this updated model. While the ongoing Corolla Altis has the price tag between 11.4-15.8 lakhs, this facelift sedan is said to be priced around 19-20 lakhs.
Brand Value:
If there is a name Toyota, there must be presence of faith and strength. Toyota’s models are known to be one of the most powerful models in terms of its quality material, performance etc. It is one of the oldest brands of India which has made its unique place in country with its reliability, trustworthiness and excellent after-sale services.
Engine details:
Though, some mechanical changes have been done in this new Corolla Altis but it will continue with the same 1.8 liter dual VVTi petrol and 1.4 D-4D diesel engines good for churning out the max output of 138.08bhp, 173Nm and 87.2bhp, 205Nm respectively.
Though it was expected from company to increase these powers in facelift sedan model as per car’s larger size but it is not going to happen at least this time.
While the available diesel engine is mated with same 6-speed manual, its petrol unit gets a super CVT-i with 7-speed sequential shiftmatic transmission along with 6-speed manual gearbox.
Space & Dimension:
Its new dimension is different than the predecessor and wheelbase gets a hike of 100mm too in this facelift model. It is now 4620mm in length, 1776mm in width and 1475mm in height. While the increased wheelbase is of now 2700mm, the boot space and ground clearance are same like the ongoing Corolla Altis which are 475 liters and 175mm respectively.
Interior & Exterior:
As it has been showcased at Auto Expo, seems like its outside glimpse has been modified by adding a new stylish chrome grille with LED headlamps, elegant LED tail lamps and splendid interior design which makes this sedan more refreshing and young than before. Also, inside cabin of this facelift sedan gets many new features other than the entire features present at its predecessor. These new equipments includes 8-way power driver seat, rear reading lamp, rear power socket, rear sunshade and rain sensors etc which have been added to increase its luxury feel.
Car Zoom’s take:
Corolla Altis is a well known name and probably it is a bestselling car of Toyota in worldwide but somehow it lacks to attract that much people in India. This classy sedan disappoints the company in terms of its sales and probably this is the reason company is bringing it with a new face and form. The new Corolla Altis seems very much different from the ongoing one and also looking more fresh and cool. However, the only drawback is its engine availability which is going to be the same and could be improved a bit. Still, as it’s Toyota, we can surely expect something good and satisfied. In India, it would compete with Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze etc.
