As reported earlier that Honda is planning something huge for this Auto Expo 2014 and might reveal its line-up of three or four models there. Among these models, one is its new premium hatchback Jazz which is all new for Indian car market but already launched at international level. Let’s see what new this model has.
The price range of this car is not disclosed yet but expected to be launched at quite competitive tag of around 5.5-8.5 lakhs.
Reportedly, in this next-gen hatchback model, 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel as well as 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engines are going to be equipped. While the diesel fuel tends to produce the max power of 98bhp, the petrol fuel churns out 87bhp. Also, its petrol engine is expected to get 5-speed manual as well as automatic, both types of transmission gearboxes as options while the diesel unit would only be paired up with 6-speed manual transmission like other Honda models.
Interior & Exterior:
As per the news, company has designed this car with a new design concept namely ‘Exciting H Design!!!’, these three exclamatory signs define its three design factors which are:
- High Tech: defines its creative soul.
- High tension: defines the chase of pleasant body structure and layout.
- High Touch: defines delicately-honed surfacing and texture.
Honda introduced this amazing concept very first in its recently launched smashing Honda City. The company is claiming that by combining these three factors into car’s interior and exterior design, more exclusive and appealing design will be realized.
Main Rivals in India:
This Honda Jazz would compete with Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Fiat Punto and VW Polo etc.
Car Zoom’s take:
Jazz’s last-gen model couldn’t get satisfactory sale in India due to its high price and unavailability of diesel engine. But now as its price is looking much affordable and diesel engine have also be armed, Honda is believing that Jazz will be succeed to attract Indian customers this time. It is coming with many interesting and powerful features to justify the badge of its reliable company and also to give a tough fight to its rivals here.
