And one more facelift model which made its presence in the recently held 12th Auto Expo is Fiat’s Linea. This sedan gets some minor renovations in its interior as well as exterior glimpse while the mechanical powers are remained untouched. Fiat’s this model will be available for sale from March 2014 onwards, expectedly.

Price:

The exact price tag of new Linea is going to be vary between 6.99-9.72 lakhs which makes this new model cheaper at base variant but costlier at top-end than its predecessor.

Engine details:

As mentioned above, no mechanical changes are done in this car; it will continue with the same 1368cc, 1.4 liter T-Jet petrol and 1248cc, 1.3 liter Advanced Multi-jet diesel engines like its predecessor. While the petrol fuel is good to develop the max power of 112.4bhp and peak torque of 207Nm, its diesel fuel produces 91.7bhp and 209Nm of max power and torque respectively. Both the engine units are paired up with 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.

As per its fuel economy is concerned, its 1.4 liter T-Jet petrol model offers 15.7 km/l of mileage while 1.3 liter Advanced Multi-jet diesel model offers 20.4 km/l.

Space & Dimension:

As per the official brochure of New Linea unveiled in Auto Expo, this model has gained some length which makes it new dimension as 4596mm in length, 1730mm in width and 1487mm in height along with the same wheelbase and ground clearance of 2603mm and 185mm respectively like the predecessor. Being a sedan model, it offers seating capacity for five passengers.

Interior & Exterior:

At outside, New Linea doesn’t look much different than the earlier model, it just has been refined its grille, bumpers with chrome detailing and add turn indicators on outside rear view mirrors etc which are making this sedan slightly refreshed and cooler than before. The unveiled New Linea diesel model is in Hip-hop Black color while the Linea petrol is in Sunbeam Gold.

Contrary, at inside the cabin, it gets new dashboard, cruise control, new audio system with USB, Aux-in & Bluetooth, rain sensing wipers, automatic switch on/off headlamps, rear parking sensor, ABS with EBD for safety and ambient dash board lighting etc.

Well, this step by Fiat to launch the Linea with slightly changes in its features is clearly a move toward the increment in its sales. As it’s the same Linea under the hood so it can’t be said that Fiat’s this wish to enhance its sales would be fulfilled or not. But definitely the showstopper of Fiat at Auto Expo was its sporty Abarth Punto which has been unveiled there and company is planning to launch it in India soon.
