Mahindra has taken the wraps off the SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV at the 2016 edition of Indian auto expo. It made the first global debut at the 2014 Paris motor show and Tivoli is first vehicle from SsangYong after being taken over by Mahindra and Mahindra in March 2011. The SUV is already on sale in South Korean market and will make its way to India by second half of this year.
The SsangYong Tivoli will get power from both petrol and diesel engines- a 1.6l Petrol that is capable of 126bhp@6000rpm of max power and 160Nm@4600rpm of high torque and a 1.6 liter e-xdi diesel mill that belts out max output of 115PS@3400rpm-4000rpm and 300Nm of peak torque@1500-2500rpm. Transmission options include a six speed manual and six speed automatic gearboxes.
It’s not that compact when comes to dimensions as it stands 4195mm in length, 1795mm in width and 1590mm in height. The five seater SUV sits on a wheelbase of 2600mm and has 167mm of ground clearance. In addition to compliment the spacious interiors, it offers 423 liters of spacious boot capacity.
Aesthetically inspired by SsangYong XIV adventure and XIV air concepts it comes with LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Sides flaunts healthy hostage of curves along with optional 18 inch alloy wheels, while rear gets anchor shaped LED tail lights giving it a contemporary look.
Features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully automatic dual zone climate control, heated front seats and steering wheel, engine start stop system, sunroof, semi bucket 2nd row seats, rear parking sensors, seven airbags graces the cabin.
