BMW started off the Indian Expo with the launch of all new X1, priced from Rs. 29.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to Rs. 39.9 lakh the SUV is available with diesel trim only. However, the German car maker will launch the petrol version of X1 in the second half of this year. The SUV has been a great volume generator for the carmaker will take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3.

Engine Details:
Power for all new X1 is offered by a 2.0 litre twin-turbo diesel engine that belts out max output of 190bhp@4000rpm and peak torque of 400Nm@1750-2500rpm. The new engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and transmits power to all wheels via BMW xdrive all wheel drive system. The x-line and Expedition make 0-100km sprint in just 7.8 seconds while offering the top speed of 222km/hr while the M sport can do the same in 7.6 seconds with the top speed of 219km/hr.
Space and Dimensions:
The new X1 has been beefed in size but shed 135kgs of weight thanks to light weighted UKL platform. The SUV is 4439mm long, 1821mm wide and 1598mm tall which is approx 36mm shorter, 21mm wide and 53mm taller than the current model. Owing to evolved dimensions, and 90mm of longer wheelbase, the cabin space and boot capacity has been improved by 37mm and 85 liters respectively.
Exterior and Interior:
The new model comes with some comprehensive design upgrades which include twin circular LED headlights with embedded LED DRLs, signature kidney shaped front grille, characterized three eyes shaped front fascia while the 17 inch alloy wheels compliments the hulky profile of the SUV. The taillights are inspired by its bigger sibling X3.
Coming to the Cabin which is now bigger, spacious and comfortable and spruced by all black cabin with Midas touch of silver and wood alongside range of upholstery options such as black, Sensatec Canberra beige and Sendatec black. The M sport variants comes with combos like black with black, Canberra beige, Mocha with black, Mocha Oyster and black with blue highlight. Apart from these it also bears a head up display with BMW connect drive app support, new power foldable rear seats, automatic climate control etc.
Colors:
The revamped X1 comes with range of color shades and metallic and non metallic options. The Alpine white is a non metallic shade while Chestnut Bronze, Mineral grey, Black sapphire, Glacier Silver, Sparkling brown, Mineral white, Platinum Silver, Mediterranean blue, Atlantic grey and sparkling storm brilliant effect. The M sport model gets an exclusive Estoril blue metallic paint scheme.
Safety:
Apart from BMW all wheel drive system, standard safety features on new model includes dynamic traction control, six airbags, ABS with brake assist, side impact protection, crash sensor, engine immobilizer, dynamic stability control, cornering brake control, hill descent control etc.
