Riding high on the success of 2015, The German carmaker Audi has kicked off the New Year with the launch of new R8 V10 plus at Indian Auto expo. Priced at a pocket burning price of Rs. 2.47 crores (ex-showroom Delhi), the vehicle made its first appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor show. The Supercar was launched in the presence of rising cricketing star Virat Kohli and Bollywood Diva Alia Bhatt. Here is all you need to know about the new R8 V10 Plus:-

Engine details:

Rivaling with the likes of Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, the superstar car packs the punch with a meaty 5.2 litre V10 motor available with two states of tunes-one develops 510PS of max output while other churns out 610PS power along with 560Nm of peak torque@6500rpm. Transmission segment is taken care by a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox assisted by Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) system and three automatic modes with optional manual control. According to the company, it can make 0-100km sprint in just 3.3 seconds with the top speed of 330km/hr.

Space and Dimensions:

The coupe measures 4426mm in length, 2037mm in width, and 1240mm in height and carries a wheelbase of 2650mm. It has a ground clearance of 110mm and cargo volume stands at 112 liters.

Exterior and Interior:

The new model is more aggressive, sporty and fascinates with its charm and beauty. The most standout feature of R8 V10 is off course its stylish Matrix LED headlights while massive hexagonal grille, sloping roofline, massive multi spoke alloy wheels, and LED tail lights give it the needed looming design.

Like exterior, the cabin has been redesigned as well to lend sportier look. The front gets a sporty layout flanked by features all new multi function steering wheel with more than 15 controls, drive select system, range of customization options and 12.3 inch Audi virtual cockpit with Audi Drive select option. It also bears cylinder on demand feature which turn off the five cylinders out ten to improve the fuel efficiency.

Safety:

The model is loaded with slew of sophisticated safety aids such as eight airbags, electronic stabilization control, tire pressure loss indicator, ceramic brakes, side impact protection beams, roll over protection system, integrated head restraint system, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, automatic three point seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters.
