Jaguar has showcased its F-Pace crossover for the first time in India during the 2016 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida. Made its official debut at Frankfurt Motor show, the F-pace will be taking on likes of Porsche Macan, Volvo XC90, Audi Q7 and BMW X5. Based on company’s light aluminum architecture, it is company’s first ever SUV in 70 years history. The Iconic car maker Jaguar will launch F-Pace by second half of this year globally while enthusiasts in India have to wait till November 2016.
The F-pace might be one of the spacious SUVs among the rivals to with dimensions of 4731mm length, 1936mm width, 1652mm height and 2833mm of long wheelbase to offer more than enough space to accommodate five adults. To tackle Indian roads, it comes with 213mm of ground clearance and 650 liters of boot space.
To be available in four trim levels- Pure prestige, R-sport and first edition, the SUV is inspired by F-type and front grille is inspired by new XF. The Uber cool SUV sports projector headlights with J-shaped LED Daytime running lights, elongated bonnet with creases and tiny fog lamps. The sloping roofline at the sides, roof mounted spoiler and multi spoke alloy wheels adds to the sporty design of the premium SUV. Rear is charmed by sleek and stretched LED tail lights seen on F-type along with silver skid plate, and twin exhaust pipes.
Jaguar F-pace will be available with two diesel engines-2.0 liter twin turbo mill that generates 178bhp@4000rpm and 430Nm between 1750-2500rpm matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine is capable of making 0-100 sprint in 8.7 seconds while offering 213km/hr as top speed.
The top variants will be powered by a 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo oil burner that churns out 296bhp@4000rpm and gigantic 700Nm of peak torque, linked to a same 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine propels the SUV to achieve 100km/hr mark from a standstill in just 6.2 seconds before hitting 241km/hr as top speed.
If you think the elegancy is constricted to exterior profile then just step inside the cabin and you will find an 8 inch InControl infotainment system, 80W Jaguar sound system, active key, rotary knob on the central console, automatic climate control. One can also go for 12.3 inch HD instrument cluster with 3D navigation display, 380W Meridian sound system and laser head up display.
The Jaguar F-pace is expected to launch around Rs. 75-85 lakhs (ex-showroom) during the November-October period.
