Audi Q3 2WD will be launched by the end of this month i.e. August 2013. The expected price range is Rs 25lacs to Rs. 29 lacs. Audi Q3 was launched last yr and received a fairly good response from the Indian luxury car lovers; this is what has inspired Audi to launch its new small SUV Audi Q3 S 2WD car this yr. The car comes to India in the form of CBU(completely built units) for which the taxes are risen off lately, so let’s see if people are ready to compromise all that for the sake of AUDI or not. And yes ofcourse the car has to meet tough competition from other Luxury car makers like Mercedes and BMW who have launched their smaller cars at a cheaper price in india like Mercedez A-class.

Let’s get a sneak-peak about the car’s specifications and features.

The Q3 car is available in both the petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version has 2.0l TFSI petrol engine offering max power of 280 PS and max torque of about 300 Nm. For the 2.0l TDI diesel engine max power and max torque figures are 174 PS and 380 Nm respectively. Also the car comes with the ‘Quattro’ badge. A variant of the car with 2WD (two wheel forward) is named Q3 S and directed to compete the BMW X1. With this variant having the 2.0 diesel engine power shall be driven to only the front wheels and producing max power of 150 bhp and max torque of 280 Nm; only manual transmission will be there with the 6-speed gearbox.

The front grill is regular almost trapezium shape with brand logo (4 intersecting circles in a row) right at the centre. The headlamps seem to be regular as seen on the test mule. There are broad 7 spokes on the alloy wheels. The ORVMs have turn indicators on them probably with the LED lights. The door handles are chrome made and body coloured. There is small grill mesh on either side below the headlamps, containing the fog lamps.

The interiors seem to be spacious and comfortable with driver seat height adjustment most probably with memory settings. The instrument cluster will be same as previous Q3. Dual zone Air conditioner, glovebox, Bluetooth, ipod port, music system, rear parking camera, power steering, power windows, automatic start/stop, keyless entry and navigation system is expected to be there in this car.

From the safety point of view it is expected to have 6 air bags giving all round protection and thus peace of mind too. Other features like seat belt reminder, pretensioner, engine immobiliser, ABS with EBD, collision sensors etc. are expected to be present.

This is what can be judged and predicted about the car. But you will have wait until the launch and we’ll be back with the reviews of expert test ride reviews and users review. Till then keep enjoying the summers!!
