Audi India has launched more powerful version of its practical performance powerhouse RS7 in the country at an asking price of Rs. 1.59 Crore (Ex-showroom Delhi), nearly 20 lakh more than the RS7. If you want a practical luxury sedan with beast V8 under the hood, huge 535 liters boot space and can shame most of the sports cars then RS7 Performance must be your unanimous choice.
For the 2 million premium; it gets power bump of 45PS while torque goes up by 50Nm. The same 4.0l twin turbo V8 motor now develops 596bhp ox impressive power between 6100 and 6800rpm while the torque stands at 700Nm between 1750 and 6000rpm. The over boost function helps driver to further increase torque by 750Nm between 2500 to 7500rpm.
The power is sent to power to all four wheels via the Quattro all wheel drive system and 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The RS7 performance can hit 100km/hr mark from a standstill in quicker 3.7 seconds which is 0.2 seconds faster than RS7. Even the top speed bumps up to 280km/hr from 250km/hr though it can be further increased up to 305km/hr.
The powerhouse also has cylinder on demand (COD) technology that activates only 4 out of 8 cylinders when the sedan is driven under light road conditions. According to Audi, this feature propels car to deliver a decent fuel efficiency of 10.5 Kmpl. There’s a drive select button integrated on the multi function steering wheel that allows driver to shuffle through the drive modes- comfort, auto, dynamic and individual.
Aesthetically, there aren’t many changes except from sporty front bumper, 21 inch gun metal alloy wheels, brushed aluminium accents, reprofiled LED tail lights and revised diffuser insert at rear. Audi RS7 performance gets an exclusive Ascari metallic blue color shade. Additionally, Audi is offering two style packages – Matte aluminium and Carbon for customization. Features include a four zone automatic air conditioning, air suspension; new head up display, MMI infotainment system with touchpad controller, Bose surround sound system and much more.
