If you are a fan of Convertibles and love convertible cars than Audi India has a treat for you on coming 11th December 2014. Audi India will launch Audi A3 Cabriolet which they showcased at the auto Expo held earlier this year and it will go sale in the coming month.
Cabriolet have retractable roof top instead of fixed roof top of A3 sedan which can be electro hydraulically opened or closed at speeds up to 50 km/hr, this process will take just 18 seconds. Audi Cabriolet will be a four seater two door convertible sharing almost same design technology as A3 sedan which was launched earlier this year.
Audi A3 Cabriolet is available in international markets in 2 smaller and 2 stronger engine options. 1.4 TFSI engine which produces 140bhp power and 1.6 TDi as smaller engines while 1.8 TFSI which produces 180bhp power and 2.0 TFSI are the larger capacity engines. The latter two are coupled with the Quattro all wheel drive and Seven speed S tronic twin clutch transmission. 1.4 TFSI engine sprints 0-100 km mark in 9.1 seconds while 1.8L TFSI engine in just 7.8 seconds.
2.0L TDI diesel motor gives 150bhp power and accelerates 0-100 km in 8.9 seconds. Audi A3 Cabriolet will measure 4.42m length, 1.79 wide and 1.41m tall with the wheelbase around 2.6 metres. It will look same as A3 sedan like same radiator grille, flat halogen xenon headlamps and it will also feature safety features like ABS, EBD, electronic stability program, airbags, traction control etc.
On the inside it will be same like Audi A3 sedan but you do get wind deflectors and neck warmers for the front passengers. Audi A3 costs less as it was manufactured locally but A3 Cabriolet will imported as CBU unit which will cost more as compared to A3 sedan around 45-50 lakh INR.
