2025 Nissan Patrol: Twin-Turbo V6 Power and New Tech Features Reveal
The 2025 Nissan Patrol represents a major update for one of Nissan’s top SUVs, combining power and technology to boost its performance and attractiveness. The standout change is the switch from the old V8 engine to a more efficient 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. This new engine provides 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, offering greater power and better fuel efficiency.
Along with the engine upgrade, the Patrol now features advanced technology, including integrated Google services and a premium Klipsch audio system. These enhancements make the Patrol a modern and powerful SUV, ideal for both off-road adventures and city driving.
REVEALED: New Nissan Patrol!
🤩 The most powerful Patrol ever!
🤩 New 3.5-litre V6 twin turbo engine!
🤩 445hp & 700Nm!
🤩 New adaptive air suspension system!
🤩 Interior part-inspired by Japanese wood craft!
The Most Powerful Patrol ever… But they’ve swapped the V8 for a V6 😟
So would you Pick this over a Land Cruiser? 🤔
Nissan has finally redesigned the long-serving Patrol, er… I mean Armada! Whether you want to call Nissan’s biggest SUV a Patrol, an Armada, or a QX80, I’ll leave that up to you, but the core vehicle is common. Under the hood you get a 3.5L twin-turbo V6, a 9-speed automatic, and the body-on-frame construction you expect in an Armada. The main change from the QX80 is that the 3.5L V6 has been re-tuned to regular unleaded which results in a slight drop to 425 horsepower but you still get the same 516 lb-ft of torque which allows 8,500 lbs of towing capability.
The interior is (logically) similar to the QX80, but with more of a rough-and-ready vibe with more buttons and switches, a two-speed transfer case, rear locker, and integrated trailer brake controller. The interior features a 3-person 2nd row which will let you leave those child seats in place while accessing the third row. That 2rd row is a bit bigger than the Lexus GX or Toyota Sequoia, but not as generous as the Wagoneer or Yukon.
What do you think? Did Nissan do enough? Should they have gone even more aggressive with the new Pro 4X version? That will get tow hooks, a rear locker and some Geolander all terrain tires, but it’s not quite what we see in the new Tahoe and Yukon off-road trims.
