The new Honda Amaze is India’s first affordable diesel-CVT automatic car.
Honda has surprised its customers by taking wraps off from the all-new 2018 Amaze at the motor show. The new compact sedan is said to be India’s first affordable car that will have a CVT automatic gearbox on its diesel variants. The petrol engine will also have a CVT automatic option. These features make the sedan second car to offer manual and automatic gearboxes on both petrol and diesel engines. The all-new Honda Amaze is likely to feature more refined alternatives to Maruti Dzire’s AMT’s. AMT’s are the jerkiest automatic gearboxes and CVTs are most refined.
Honda Amaze will be soon launching the same in India. The car is designed in Thailand and gets a brand new look. It seems Amaze has drawn inspiration from the Honda Accord and Civic with bold design and sharper styling.
Overall, the new Amaze seems taller than the current version and a great focus on the cabin ambiance is given this time. The compact sedan gets a fairer silhouette, a compressed nose, a prominent bonnet and neatly executed rear. The interiors of the car are all new and it is one level up in terms of premium-ness.
On the interior part, there is a new touch-screen infotainment system, latest beige and black interior with good fit and finish and more cabin space as compared to the previous generation car. The company has not revealed the engine details of the car, but we expect an 88hp, 1.2-liter petrol, and 100hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine for the Honda Amaze.
